Adopting Nicholas

In October 2007 my wife (Kimberly Goard) and I (Brian Goard) started a conversation about adoption.  This blog is an account of where that conversation led and where it is currently leading.  By the way, something interesting happened in October 2007–a third conversationalist joined us.  We wish he would talk more.  We wish we knew when it is him talking and when it’s just us.  Sometimes we know for sure it’s him.  Those are good days.  Sometimes we wonder if he has left the building.  Those are bad days.  But even the bad days are hopeful.  Things are not what they seem on those bad days:  “He is actually not far from each one of us, for ‘In him we live and move and have our being'” (Acts 17:26).
